Greenbank Sports Academy is set to host a number of events for the Special Olympics GB Summer Games, which are to be held in Liverpool in August 2021.
Wavertree Athletics Village will also be a venue for the games, and Sefton Park will play a part in the opening and closing ceremonies.
Over 2,000 athletes will participate in what will be the UK’s biggest disability sports event of 2021, and the biggest multi-sport tournament the city has ever staged.
The sports on display at the games will include athletics, boccia and football, as well as the Motor Activities Training Programme for people with multiple cognitive disabilities.
Currently, Greenbank Sports Academy offers a disability sport and activity programme, with sessions on evenings and weekends, delivered by experienced disability sort coaches.
The activities on offer range from wheelchair handball to rebound therapy.
